Miss Grosch's Class Spring Term 2025

In the Spring term our topic's are 'Why is our world wonderful' and 'How did we learn to fly?'
The first topic will be a Geography focus. We will be looking at the world we live in, finding out about the continents and the oceans, and exploring human and physical and geographical features.
In the second topic, our focus will be History. We will be looking at how air travel has changed over time, including space travel. This will also include a look at some important people within this topic.

We will continue our daily RWInc phonic sessions. For English, we will continue Drawing club for EYFS children. This looks at the ingredients of a story and gives the children the opportunity to use their imagination and come up with ideas for their own stories. The Year 1 children will be following Bookwrites curriculum. We will be looking at some books in more details, covering fiction, non-fiction and poetry.

In Maths, we will be exploring and ordering numbers up to 10. We will then go on to looking at measure and finally we will be exploring patterns.

In R.E, we be learning about Galilee to Jerusalem - looking at how the wise men visited Jesus and the lessons on sharing that Jesus taught. We will then move onto Desert to garden - exploring Jesus journey to Easter and our own journey through Lent.
