Vision, Virtues and Mission Statement

Mission Statement

The Cathedral School of St Mary promotes the Catholic ethos of the school so that all aspects of our daily life, worship, and the curriculum, reflect the person of Jesus Christ, his love and his teachings. With love, care and compassion, we introduce our children to God. God loves every one of us and we ensure that our whole school family feel valued and loved. We encourage children to become citizens that can change the world. It is our mission to promote a love of learning and a love of self so that every child that leaves us is equipped to leave their mark on our planet.

We nurture today’s minds for tomorrow’s future, remembering that God made me as I am.

Through Him, all things are possible. (Matthew 19:26)
The school community at The Cathedral School of St. Mary seeks to provide all children aged 4-11 years with a stimulating learning environment, permeated by the Gospel Virtues.

We hope to recognise, develop and celebrate all that is unique in each individual and strive to help all attain their full potential in academic achievement, confidence, co-operation and responsibility.
As a member of Plymouth CAST Multi-Academy Trust, working under the guidance of Plymouth Diocese, we have embraced the Virtues Handbook as endorsed by Bishop Mark O'Toole.

The premise of the document is that through the virtues, our
children discover their innermost hearts and they seek and
strive after truth and goodness in all its forms.
